About the event

This workshop is an invitation to slow down and explore the practice of joy, and the many ways we can bring more curiosity, play, creativity, and delight into our everyday lives.

Through creative meditation, writing, reflection, and gentle community conversation, you’ll explore your own relationship with joy and begin to notice the rituals, rhythms, desires, and sources of delight that are uniquely yours.

Drawing from practices in The Artist’s Way, we’ll explore accessible ways to bring more creativity and possibility into everyday life. You do not need to have read the book, and you do not need to consider yourself an artist or writer. These are practices for anyone curious about living with a little more intention, delight, and creativity.

“In a world pocked by cynicism and pummeled by devastating news, to find joy for oneself and spark it in others, to find hope for oneself and spark it in others, is nothing less than a countercultural act of courage and resistance. This is not a matter of denying reality — it is a matter of discovering a parallel reality where joy and hope are equally valid ways of being. To live there is to live enchanted with the underlying wonder of reality, beneath the frightful stories we tell ourselves and are told about it.”  - Maria Popova

Lucinda Caldwell is a multimedia artist, teacher, and founder of Giddy by Nature, a creative community rooted in joy, intention, nature, mindfulness, and self-trust.

Lucinda’s own relationship with these practices grew out of a period when illness dramatically changed the pace and shape of her life. In that experience, she discovered the importance of creativity, community, nature, and mindfulness - not as occasional luxuries, but as practices that can help us reconnect with ourselves and create a life that feels like our own.

For the past decade, she has brought these ideas into her work through Giddy by Nature, leading creative gatherings, workshops, and The Artist’s Way groups that invite people to slow down, listen inward, follow their curiosity, and make more room for what brings them alive.
