Year of the Fire Horse Tea Ceremony with Zhena Muzyka

A Transformational Tea Journey at Meditation Mount

Time & Location

Feb 22, 2026, 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Meditation Mount, 10340 Reeves Rd, Ojai, CA 93023, USA

About the event

Join celebrated tea ceremonialist Zhena Muzyka for a rare and sacred gathering to honor the Year of the Fire Horse on the auspicious date of 2/22 – a portal of alignment, partnership, and new beginnings.

This intimate ceremony weaves ancient wisdom with accessible, heart-centered practice, guiding participants through an alchemical journey from cooling preparation to joyful transformation. Unlike rigid, overly formal tea ceremonies, this gathering honors the levity and lightness of being that lives at the heart of authentic tea culture – where monks giggle, hearts open, and the sacred becomes playful.

The Three-Tea Journey

Silver Needle Yinzhen (White Tea) - New Beginnings

Begin with a rare, aged white tea harvested once a year on the full moon of early spring. This cooling, yin tea opens the heart channel and brings truth into being – the perfect preparation to receive the fiery energy of the Horse year.

Jasmine Dragon Pearls (Green Tea) - The Potential

Witness the pearl unfurling as we explore how hardship opens us, revealing the treasure that can only emerge through life's fires. Like the acorn that requires wildfire to germinate, we discover what has been forged within us.

222 Angel Oolong (Papaya Rose) - The Joy

Complete the alchemical process with this heart-opening, digestively soothing blend that celebrates new partnerships, insights, and love. Embrace the joy and wisdom that arise from the journey of transformation.

Throughout the ceremony, you'll receive teachings on tea wisdom, Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, and the art of reconnection – with yourself as an aspect of the divine, with others as agents of love, and with the whole planetary ecosystem. Each tea includes guided meditation and contemplative practice.

The ceremony concludes as the sun sets at 5:30 PM, allowing participants to carry their tea-drunk bliss into viewing the Magic Hour at Meditation Mount--where Magic Hour was inspired to become!

Participants will be seated on yoga mats with meditation cushions (backjacks available). Chairs provided for those who need them. All rare teas, ceremonial implements, and guidance included.

Zhena Muzyka is a master tea blender, herbalist, and ceremonialist with over 30 years of expertise in botanical medicine and transformational wellness practices. As the founder and CEO of Magic Hour Tea Company, she has built a beautiful business dedicated to creating ceremonies of connection and fostering community through the ancient art of tea.

A published author whose memoir Life by the Cup was released by Simon & Schuster, Zhena brings ancient wisdom into essential, accessible language that anyone can understand. Her grandmother first taught her to make medicinal herb teas, and a serendipitous encounter with Japanese exchange students in college introduced her to Camellia sinensis – the singular plant from which all true tea flows.

Zhena's unique approach combines certifications in aromatherapy with deep study in Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Western herbology, and South American plant medicine (including training in Peru's Amazon). She previously founded Zhena's Gypsy Tea, pioneered fair trade tea practices, and published 40 books through her Simon & Schuster imprint, Enliven Books.

Known for her trademarked Magic Hour Tea Ceremony programming at luxury properties including Canyon Ranch, Four Seasons, and Ritz-Carlton, Zhena brings humor, heart, and profound transformation to every gathering. Her plain-spoken approach honors accessibility of ancient ceremonies in an entertaining light, making tea's spiritual teachings accessible to a wide range of audiences.

Zhena believes that tea fixes everything – it is her muse, her medicine, and her path to knowing what to do when answers seem elusive. Through tea, she invites others to remember their own divine essence and to release the love that lives at the heart of who we are.
