An Uprising of Spirit

With the dawn of each day, the sun reassuringly rises in the heavens and we gladly welcome anew its inviting light and warmth and life-giving power into our lives.

Likewise, our inner sun, the Soul, is constantly shining and beckoning – inviting us to open our hearts and minds and receive its radiant presence that will illumine and nourish our daily rounds. It is a magnetic appeal from Life Itself: a powerful invitation to rise up and meet, greet and merge with the luminosity of the Sovereign Self. The powerful radiatory Fire of Being, burning brightly at the core of our Essential Nature, exerts a constant inner pressure to be acknowledged, embraced and revealed and yet we are always at liberty to respond with either a yes or a no to its compelling call.

The Soul invites and appeals but never coerces or demands absolute obedience of us as its incarnated agent on Earth. In the spiritual lineage that runs through Meditation Mount, the following teaching from The Tibetan (the Master DK) offers us some words of clarification.

“There is no obligation to obey. We seek to train intelligent servers of humanity and these are developed by self-initiated effort, freedom in action and discrimination in method, and not by unquestioning obedience, negative acquiescence, and blind following. If any command may ever emanate from the subjective band of teachers of whom I am a humble member, let it be to follow the dictates of your own soul and the promptings of your higher self.” ~ A Treatise on White Magic, pp 103-04 ~

Why is it deemed to be of the highest importance for us to freely decide our own destiny? The answer to the question is intimately tied up with the mystery of free will and the individual’s right to choose that is, according to the Ageless Wisdom teaching, the appointed pedagogical approach for the evolution of human consciousness upon our particular planet.

Inside this developmental process, it is imperative that each person has the freedom to think and act for themselves so that when we eventually say YES to life, it comes from the very heart of our being as a willing and joyful expression of our deepest desire. Illumination cannot be imposed from the outside. The innate Light of Wisdom can only be released and revealed through a self-initiated act of Will.

A conscious act of choosing allows us to experience life first-hand and through this immersion, the Light of Wisdom is spontaneously generated in an ‘aha’ moment of self realization. Inside the womb of a lived experience, we give birth to our own indwelling light. It is the child of our own conception and manifestation that we are asked to deliver into the world and not something adopted from an external source.

One other important reason for learning to think for ourselves is intertwined with the notion of the power of thought as an instrument for creating new realities. With every intentional thought we set in motion a thoughtform that, when condensed, shapes a new world which we inhabit. The quality of our thinking determines the quality of life on Earth for us as individuals and collectively as a species. When the focused intent of our aspirations, magnetized by the benevolence of the heart, holds the dream of a preferred future then it grows in potency until reaching a point of precipitation.

Life is a continuous cycle involving the construction of forms, followed by a time of destruction of that form and then a reconstruction of new forms. Outer forms are temporary by nature – they are composed and then decompose when they have delivered on the intended promise. Appearance, disappearance, and reappearance – birth, death, and rebirth. These are natural cycles and phases in the Pageant of Life. Spirit utilizes this seasonal procession of Mother Nature to externalize and take on new expressions that reveal even more of the innate promise than the previous cycle. Our task now is to shape new and better thoughtforms that are more in harmony with the quality of loving kindness so that what we create on the outside through thought-projection truly exemplifies the highest ideals that we hold in our heart and mind.

Our thoughts are the way that we build the sacred Temple of the Self in which the Fire of Love may dwell. Focused thought is how we collectively imagine and manifest a preferred future that is in resonance with the Soul and thus serves the good of the whole.

We are faced at this time with a monumental decision as a human family. Do we continue to employ callous and selfish thinking and thus strengthen and reinforce the cell walls of materialism in which we are presently confined or do we dismantle this self-created prison and build, instead, the golden temple of our higher aspirations?

The building of the Temple takes place from the inside-out and for this deep work of construction to be successful we at Meditation Mount employ the practice of Creative Meditation. The blocks of our temple must be hewn in accordance with the inner blueprints, architecture and design of the Soul and need to be made out of the purest and most refined matter.

In the same way that a finished bricks-and-mortar house starts life as a dream and an architectural drawing, so the promise of a brighter future on Earth begins with a potent thoughtform – a magnetic meme – impressed upon the receptive field of the collective intuition by the compelling note of purpose which is subsequently clothed with mental, emotional and etheric substance through the focused power of the higher mind in cooperation with the compassionate heart.

At Meditation Mount, we earnestly believe that the Temple needs to stand firmly on the solid foundation of spiritual Principles. This unshakeable base is built stone-by- stone as we recognize and live into the Principle of Essential Divinity that affirms the Fire of the Creator is present in each person and we are fractals of the One Life; as we learn to embody the Principle of Goodwill that proclaims Love as the reason and substance of Life and the true glue that connects all beings and as we experience the Principle of Unanimity in our blood and bones and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we are part of a limitless, loving and interwoven Matrix of Life.

At this pivotal time, as one great cycle comes to an end with the crumbling of its outworn and unstable foundations and structures, the call from the Soul of Humanity is being registered in our hearts as an invitation to enter a time of reimagination and reconstruction together based on those principles and values that serve the highest good of all. The building of a new Temple of Humanity requires that we first clear, purify and consecrate a space in the which the work can be carried out.

The pain of the Past may linger in the Present as a dark foreboding cloud that obscures the light of the Soul – creating a sense of ceaseless suffering and hopelessness that dampens our creative spirit. The unshakeable faith and hope of a brighter Future sensed deep inside the Heart by the Soul as the Master Mason, shines in the Present as a radiant and expectant Joy. Joy and fiery hope liberate the energy of the Soul and allow us to show up in the here and now as a powerful Force for Good and an active agent of positive change in the world.

Responding wholeheartedly and unhesitatingly to this fiery call from the Soul of Humanity to rise and become the radiant inner Sun is how we will create a new world and a new ‘Soular Civilization’ together – one day at a time and one heart at a time.

This is the uprising of Spirit-in-action that is greatly needed to turn things around and upward. Thus, it is high time for us all to rise and shine.
