The Vital Waters of Life

The presence of water is essential for the appearance of life on Earth. It is the virtuous combination of warmth and moisture in the soil and the surrounding atmosphere that creates optimal conditions in which seeds containing the imprinted promise of things to come, may successfully germinate, quicken and flourish.

Water is a familiar element with which we all have an intimate relationship. Our earthly bodies comprise between 50-70% water and the surface of planet Earth is 70% covered by water. Additionally, each one of us spent precious months immersed in the amniotic fluid inside our mother’s womb where this maternal liquid nourished, sustained and protected us before that momentous point when the ‘waters broke’ and we entered into the world. At that crowning moment, we shifted from an initial and embryonic period of breathing water to one of breathing air as a newborn child.

This shift from a time governed by water to one ruled by air is also reflected in the transition between the Piscean Age and the Age of Aquarius that we are now entering. Pisces is designated as a Water sign whereas Aquarius is an Air sign. Aquarius is called the water bearer, symbolized by a person carrying a pitcher of water on their shoulder.

A Biblical reference from Luke 22:10 cites these words of Master Jesus, “Behold, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house that he enters.” Scholars of esoteric Christianity have noted that this refers both to the secret sign Jesus gave his disciples Peter and John to find the location for the Last Supper as well as being a clear indication of the coming transition from the Piscean Era to the Aquarian Age where Air, representing the ‘realm of intuition’, will irrigate our future growth as incarnate Souls on Earth. So how do we maintain the highest level of purity of the vital waters of Life?

In the groundbreaking book, “The Hidden Messages of Water”, Dr Masaru Emoto shared the results of his research into the direct effects of the quality of our thoughts, words and feeling on molecules of water. Using high-speed photography, he discovered that crystals formed in frozen water change shape when focused thoughts are directed toward them. Dr Emoto demonstrated that water from pure springs and water that has been exposed to loving thoughts and words revealed clear, complex and colorful snow-flake patterns. In stark contrast, polluted water or water subjected to negative thoughts formed incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with predominantly dull colors.

For me, the vital take-away from Dr Emoto’s research is that the environmental clean-up of our planet cannot be limited to only the physical environment but must also include the realm of human thoughts and feelings. We have the collective task of cleaning the astral waters and purifying the contaminated field of the lower mental plane in order to create a healthy environment for all life on Earth.

If we wish to successfully fulfill our appointed role as “environmental stewards”, then we each need to examine our daily conduct and locate exactly where the real roots of pollution lie. There are, of course, obvious culprits who shamelessly exploit the natural wealth of the planet and their names are well-known. However, blame for the erosion of the delicate ecological balance cannot only be placed upon the shoulders of these toxic waste-producing enterprises. There is a source of pollution and ecological damage that is much closer to home.

We are appalled by the noxious waste that poisons our atmosphere, oceans and land but seldom stop to think of individual acts of pollution that take place daily. Any derogatory thought or negative emotion we send out becomes a poisonous release into the ethers and has the same destructive effect as any harmful chemical would have on the physical matter of our world.

Whenever our hearts and minds are filled with hate we spew out harmful particulates and the psychological climate of our planet is being adversely affected by these pernicious emissions. If we had the capacity to scan the mental horizons of the collective consciousness, we might perceive the dark thought-forms and emotionally-charged particles clouding the inner skies. This acid rain-cloud of the human psyche is a powerful corrosive force eating away at the social and moral fabric of our world.

We quite rightly demand limits to emissions from automobiles and factories and yet, fail to understand that the factory of the human mind is churning out pollutants into the atmosphere each time we think in separatist and prejudicial ways about each other or act violently towards the myriad creatures of sea, land and air with whom we share this planet. If we do not improve the quality of our thinking and behaving, we are at risk of choking on acrid fumes of hatred, drowning in a roiling ocean of uncontrolled negative emotions and severely degrading the standard of life for all on Earth.

It is unacceptable for us to pollute the Waters of Life. We need to consider that water is much more than simply a liquid substance or the chemical formula ‘H2O’, it is a Living Presence and an exquisite expression of a divine aspect of Creation. The modern-day visionary David Spangler is one of many strong voices encouraging us to live in right relationship with the sacred elements of Earth and Heaven. He describes a powerful personal experience that carries a message for us all:

I had just filled a glass with water from the tap, and as I was lifting it up to drink, there suddenly appeared in the water in the glass a small being that identified itself as a water spirit. It spoke with great urgency and passion and said, in effect, “When you use water, please send loving, healing, and uplifting energy (Light) to the kingdom of the water spirits for many of our kind are suffering and are under siege from the continuing and increasing pollution of water by humanity. We need your support and blessing from which we can draw strength.”

The sense I had was that many water spirits were weakening under the onslaught of the toxicity that human beings dump into their realm--not that they are poisoned themselves but that their contact with the water is weakened and they are driven back, so to speak, unable to make full connection with the water they serve.

Dr Emoto discovered that thoughts can be captured in water and we at Meditation Mount utilize a similar process of ‘subtle imprinting’ of the ethers in order to build thought-forms that function as magnetic seeds carrying the promise of a preferred future. The practice of Creative Meditation involves ‘impressing’ the ethers with potent thoughts containing a vision of a better tomorrow. The Ageless Wisdom teaching explains that, “Energy follows thought” and “focused intent sets energy in motion towards a perceived outcome.” Therefore, thought is a powerful construction tool that shapes and enables potent inner dreams to naturally precipitate into tangible forms.

In this way, through the practice of Creative Meditation, we transmit energies and qualities into the subtle realms that surround the Earth so that the ‘spiritual bio-sphere’ may be infused with new possibilities that help our deepest aspirations to be realized and manifested. As we continue to saturate the ethers with life-affirming thoughts, there comes a critical point where precipitation occurs and that which is desired, naturally rains down upon us. A word of caution. Remember, it is our choice as a human family whether it is a good rain or a bad rain that is going to fall on Earth.

Creative Meditation is the art and science of creating ‘living thought forms’ made up of a balanced fusion of thought, feeling, imagination and will, that are beneficial to all life. We sow these magnetized seeds into the fertile field of the heart to be nurtured and ripened so that the harvest of our labors can be of service to humanity. In addition to using analogies drawn from Nature to describe Creative Meditation, we can also refer to this systematic process of bringing ideals and ideas into a ‘realized’ form by reflecting on the protocol of constructing a new building.

In the same way that a finished bricks-and-mortar ‘dream house’ started life as an inspired vision translated into an architectural drawing, so the promise of a brighter future on Earth begins with a potent thoughtform – a magnetic meme – etched upon the receptive field of the collective intuition by the compelling note of directed will and purpose. It is subsequently clothed with mental, emotional and etheric substance through the active agency of the higher mind in cooperation with the compassionate heart. This is the potent formula for manifesting the Dream of the Creator on Earth.

We are each Sowers in the Garden of Gaia and Builders of a New Reality. May the vital waters of life nourish the needed regeneration of our global society and may the ‘seed-ideas’, carried inside the granary of our heart, blossom as a blessing to all beings.
